Swept Up in Soccer

I have been thoroughly caught up in the rapture of the Soccer World Cup that has been sweeping through the nation the last few months. I've been watching the games and on Tuesday did the Fan Walk with the boyfriend and his parents. It was an incredible experience, so many people coming together from all walks of life and all corners of the planet. Crossing the bridge over Buitengracht, we looked back and saw a sea of orange-clad Netherlands supporters behind us, dotted here and there with the blue of Uruguay. And when the Dutch won their match that evening and made it through to the finals, the atmosphere in town was electrifying.
